LACEY, Wash. – Saint Martin's Men's Basketball head coach Alex Pribble has announced the signing of three more recruits, E.J. Boyce, Luke Chavez and Matt Dahlen, to the 2017 recruiting class.
Luke Chavez • Guard • 6-4 / 185 • San Anselmo, California • South Puget Sound Community College
Luke Chavez will become a Saint after leading the South Puget Sound Community College to a first place finish in the West Region. Chavez, who averaged 15.4 points per game, shot the ball efficiently at 48 percent from the floor and 47 percent at the 3-point line and was named the West Region MVP last year. Before leading the Clippers to the playoffs, Chavez attended College of Marin and Sir Francis Drake high school, where he was honored as a first team All-League selection in high school. He helped lead his high school to a first place finish in the league in 2012-13.
"Luke is a flat-out competitor," Pribble said. "He's won championships at every level he's played at, including most recently at South Puget Sound, and prior to that with Coach Granucci at College of Marin. He truly loves the game, is incredible self-motivated, and attacks every opportunity to improve. We are excited about his potential, and think he can have a very special career at Saint Martin's - he's going to be a great addition."
Boyce, Chavez and Dahlen increase the 2017 recruiting class to seven signees. The class already includes recruits Cameron Chatwin, Tavian Henderson, Jared Mathews and Caden Smith.
